Reviewing what a coworking membership actually includes

Check desk, meeting-room, guest and service entitlements against the exact coworking plan, including booking rules, credits and extra charges.

Turn each advertised benefit into a usable entitlement. For the exact plan and site, establish who may use it, when, how it is booked and whether an allowance or extra charge applies. A facility being present does not mean its use is included.

Record the exact entitlements

Ask for the product name and written inclusions. Terms such as “coworking access” or “meeting space” do not specify how much use is covered.

A plan may provide credits for day passes and rooms, while another may include desk access but require a separate meeting-room booking. Confirm the booking rate before treating a credit as a number of hours.

ItemEntitlement to confirm
DeskAssigned or shared; booking required; availability limits
Meeting roomIncluded use, credits or separate hire; eligible rooms and booking windows
CallsPhone-booth access, time limits and booking rules
Internet and printingIncluded access, usage limits and charges
Storage and mailReserved space, delivery rights and permission to use the address
GuestsPermitted purpose, area, duration and any pass requirement
Other locationsEligible sites, hours and booking rules

Check allowances and shared facilities

Confirm whether each allowance is a monthly credit, a visit count, desk days, room hours or a discount. Ask whether unused credit carries forward, whether the team shares it and what extra use costs. The rules must come from the proposed membership; published products differ.

Distinguish a shared facility from a reserved one. Access to a lounge does not reserve a desk, locker or private room. If colleagues must sit together, confirm the allocation or booking rule for the busiest day.

Check ordinary use and exceptions

Walk through three tasks with the operator: arriving for a desk day, booking a client room and bringing a guest. Confirm the booking, approval, credit deduction or payment for each. Then check the exceptions that matter to the team, such as peak days, public holidays, another location or hours without staffed support.

Keep a short record of each essential item as included, limited, separately charged or unavailable, with the operator's written answer. Resolve differences between the sales description and agreement before signing.
